Lucy Liu is an American director, actress, and singer. She's a beautiful, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to succeed in Hollywood. After a series of initial appearances in various popular television series her fame was boosted by joining the cast of the show Legal Comedy Ally McBeal where she played the evil Ling Woo. The actress translated her sudden recognition into roles on big screens in films including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress then gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii In Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she also played the lead role in a few film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing famous characters in animated films such for Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's character was in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not yield positive results. Southland, a critically acclaimed collection of police dramas, which had Liu playing recurring roles, helped her reestablish her own identity. Liu selects her roles with the utmost respect to make sure she doesn't get typecast in a competitive industry. Even though she's proud her background, she is determined to not let it limit her imagination.
